About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation #12505B25Q0069 regarding the replacement of an air compressor system. The Q&A reveals that a BeaconMedaes scroll air compressor (part #LPS-10D-SD200-DCY) failed and was replaced with a Power EX Model SBS10B700 in 2021, which also failed after 2 years. The facility uses 208 three-phase electricity and requires Class 0 purity according to ISO standards. A desiccant-style compressed air dryer would be acceptable.
Key clarifications include: this is an RFQ not an IFB with quotes due by 11:59 PM CST on March 5, 2025; NAICS code 333912 (Air and Gas Compressor Manufacturing) is required and construction NAICS codes are not acceptable; a fork truck for offloading must be provided by the vendor; and no construction cost estimates or bidders lists exist since this is an equipment procurement with installation and training rather than a construction project. The contract will be awarded by March 14, 2025 and all updates will be posted on SAM.gov.

A: Only one compressor has failed twice thus far, which was a subassembly of the original
Scroll Air Compressor System from BeaconMedaes installed during construction. The assembly part number is LPS-10D-SD200-DCY, once that compressor failed it was replaced with a Power EX Model SBS10B700 3 PH/60HZit in 2021 and failed 2 years later. The reason why it failed is unknown.

If an award is able to be made, the awardee will be notified and an award notice will be posted to SAM.gov.
