Q: Should an add alternative be included or should it be incorporated into the price for heat trace?

A: Existing heat trace will only require replacement if damaged during the installation process. Pricing should reflect your risk tolerance.

Q: Given the unknown current state of the existing valves. Should there be an additional alternative price for those valves? As well as obvious rusted hardware?

A: This is not a written requirement but voluntary alternates are acceptable subject to CO approval. Intention is to reuse/maintain existing

Q: Should bids include vibration isolators and pads as a precaution or an add alternative?

A: Bid requirements reflect replacement of grout bed, anchor bolts, and mounting plate per manufacturer’s written installation requirements. Recommendations for a more robust, trouble free installation are welcome and should be submitted as a voluntary alternate subject to CO approval. Pictures provided of existing installation for pump 1/3/4/6 for reference.

Q: What is the weight rating of the concrete bad leading to towers? Should 3/4” plywood be factored in?

Q: Can existing insulation and metal cladding be re-utilized or is it required to be replaced?

A: If the integrity of the existing insulation and metal cladding can be retained, it is acceptable to be re-utilized. If damaged during installation activities, it should be replaced. Pricing should reflect your risk tolerance.
