Statement of Work Repair of Munters HC-1125-GA Dehumidifier

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 Scope of Work: Acquisition of OEM-Compatible repair parts urgently required to repair an existing Munters Cargocaire Engineering Company HC-1125-GA Dehumidifier. Parts required are: desiccant drum, drive motor, seal kit, reducer, rollers, and belts. .

2.0 Background: The Munters Cargocaire Engineering Company Dehumidifier, Model HC-1125-GA regulates the environmental conditions in the main USDA Plant Introduction Research Unit Cold Room that stores our germplasm collection. The humidity levels continue to steadily rise. Over the past twenty years, various repairs have been made to keep the system running. However, the unit has reached the point that new parts are now urgently required. The humidity levels have reached an all-time high at 65%. If the cold room does not maintain appropriate environmental conditions, the germplasm could be compromised as high humidity is damaging to germplasm longevity. The implications from a protracted purchase timeline will be that the longevity of the germplasm will be reduced and regeneration cycles will be shortened thus costing us more money.
