Question Answer

The bid specification states “with a cabinet and two sides.” However, it also states “must fit the current wall opening with measurements of 20” x 20” x 38.” These statements contradict one another. To ensure we offer the appropriate configuration, do you require the autoclaves to be cabinet enclosed (with side panels) or will they be recessed through a wall?

No side panels are required for this autoclave.

If the autoclaves are to be recessed through a wall, please provide the existing wall opening dimensions (width, height). If recessed through a wall, please confirm that the existing wall opening dimensions can be adjusted to fit the selected manufacturer, if needed.

The reason I ask is because all autoclave manufacturers have varying wall opening size requirements.

The wall opening is W 37 1/2" H 74".

3 Do you require the autoclave vendor to include installation, including final utility connections, as part of their scope of work?

No instillation is required.

If the installation is to be performed by others, we assume you will still want the autoclave vendor to provide start-up and user training. Please confirm.

No start up training is required.

The bid specification states “The current small autoclaves are at the end of their lives and no longer repairable.” Do you require the autoclave vendor to include de-installation of the existing two autoclaves, as part of their scope of work? If so, please provide more information on the existing units, including photos.

No de-installaion of existing autoclave is required.

The bid specification states “Must have a PLC control system that can program up to 30 custom cycles.” Our control system is capable of programming up to 20 custom cycles. This market rarely requires more than 10 custom cycles. Therefore, we assume 20 custom cycles would be acceptable. Please confirm.

Specifications detailed are necessary to fulfill the requirement of our facility.

7 Can “house air” (90 PSI minimum) be made available at the autoclave locations? Yes, house air can be provided to the location.

The bid specification states “Must have all chambers be polished mirror surface finish of <10 Ra.” This is unique for one particular autoclave brand and is an unusual requirement for this application. Our autoclave chambers are 316L stainless steel (as required in the specification), are ASME stamped, and polished to a high luster but not a mirror finish. This is what most autoclave manufacturers provide. Please confirm that a high polish luster (but not mirror finish) is acceptable.

Specifications detailed are necessary to fulfill the requirement of our facility.

The bid specification states “Must have right side service access and controls.” We canprovide right side service access, however, our controls are top mounted. Top mountedcontrols are more common, since they provide a narrower overall footprint. Most autoclavemanufacturers, for this particular chamber size of 20” x 20” x 38”, offer top mounted controls. Therefore, we assume it is acceptable. Please confirm.

Specifications detailed are necessary to fulfill the requirement of our facility.

The bid specification states “Deliverables/Schedule Units shall be delivered onsite within 60days of date of award.” Being that this type of equipment is “built to order,” we are hoping youwill be flexible with this timeline. Most manufacturers have a lead time of several months, aftersubmittal/drawing approvals. Please confirm a delivery extension will be considered.

Yes delivery extensions will be considered.

11 Is there a truck-level loading dock on site or will a lift-gate delivery be required? Yes 12 Is there a forklift on site that could be made available, to assist in the receiving/unloadingprocess? Yes 13 Are both autoclaves to be located on ground level? No

If installed above ground level, is an elevator available? If an elevator is required for transport, please confirm its door opening dimensions, as well as the internal cab dimensions and weightlimit.

There is a service elevator available with dimensions larege enough for any stand alone autoclave.

15 Will both autoclaves be installed in the same room? If not, will they be installed on the samefloor? No they will be installed on different floors.

16 Are there any obstacles in the pathway to the autoclave final locations? Such as stairs, ledges, tight turns, etc.? No obstructions blocking the path.

17 What is the hallway size in the pathway to the autoclave final locations? Hallway is roughly 10' high and 8' wide.

18 What is the smallest doorway size in the pathway to the autoclave final locations? 6' x 7'

Can a dimensioned drawing of the autoclave room (and room photos, if available) be madeavailable? This information would be helpful to have, prior to bidding, to ensure a proper fit andverify there is adequate space for service access.

This informatkion can be provided upon award of the contract.

20 What is the current make/model of the autoclave currently being used?
