Questions and Answers for Solicitation # 12505B24Q0194

Q: Is this opportunity open to used and refurbished options?

A: No, the requirement is for new equipment only.

Q: What country of origin is acceptable for the equipment?

A: Any country of origin is acceptable. However, any foreign made products quoted will have an additional 30% added to the quoted price to make them comparable to any USA Made products that are also quoted (per FAR 25.106). If only foreign made products are quoted the solicitation will need to be reissued as unrestricted to try to find large businesses able to provide technically acceptable USA Made products. If no USA Made products are found and/or none of the USA Made products quoted meet the technical requirements outlined on the Statement of Work (SOW) than a waiver from the Made in America office would be required before an award could be made. As such, USA Made products are highly preferred.

Q: Will this Ultrasound Sound system be used on small animal or mixed animal use?

A: The equipment will be used primarily on large animals, but it will be used on a variety of species (rodents, poultry, livestock, and wildlife both large and small). The types of animals the equipment will be used on is outlined on the SOW (pages 15 – 16 of the SF1449 attachment).

Q: Line item # 006 is for onsite training. Do you need a technical representative onsite to show you how the equipment works? Would zoom or facetime be acceptable?

A: As stated on the SOW a technical representative must come on site to provide training on the use of the equipment. Virtually training via zoom or facetime would not be considered acceptable.

Q: Where are you located?

A: The location requiring the equipment is 1920 Dayton Avenue, Ames, IA 50010 as specified in the SOW (pages 15 – 16 of the SF1449 attachment).

Q: Are you interested in a demonstration?

A: We are not interested in a demonstration at this time. The vendor who receives the award will provide a demonstration of the equipment as part of the onsite training.
