About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines waste removal services required for the USDA National Centers for Animal Health campus in Ames, Iowa. The contractor must provide and service thirteen 6-cubic yard dumpsters (emptied 3x/week), manage one USDA-owned trash compactor (emptied weekly), and maintain five roll-off containers of varying sizes (30 and 10 cubic yards) on an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity basis.
The work includes specific requirements for waste disposal locations between the City of Ames Resource Recovery Plant and Boone County Landfill, with special handling requirements for containers containing lard and animal fats. Services must be performed between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM on business days, with alternate scheduling for federal holidays. The contractor must provide scale tickets with invoices, use empty trucks when arriving on campus, and maintain dedicated loads from pickup to disposal. Security requirements specify that all vendor personnel must be US citizens and present valid driver's licenses when checking in at the main gate. Fixed-price services include the dumpsters and compactor, while roll-off container services are provided on a "will call" basis with landfill fees as cost-only items.
