Question and Answer for Solicitation # 12505B23Q0365
Q: Was there an incumbent on the last contract offer, and if so, do you have the value of the prior contract and/or contract number?
A: Due to the length of time and type of prior purchase that was made for this type of product, we do not have an incumbent, value, or award number available to share.
Q: Will previous quotes need to be resubmitted?
A: All quotes received during the initial issuance of the solicitation that were received from qualified vendors (i.e. had an active SAM registration and were a small business for the NAICS) were not found to be acceptable. So, if you can provide a technically acceptable product at a reasonable price you may submit a quote in response to the reissued solicitation.
Q: How would you like prototypes delivered to you? Physically or photos with specifications?
A: Detailed design drawings with specifications would be sufficient. Must be engineering grade and include what would be used to create the form for making the trays.
Q: Do you need these trays to stack or nest?
A: Yes, the trays need to stack. This is referenced in the technical requirements.
Q: Is the desired thickness 4-6 mil (one-thousandth of an inch) or 4-6 mm (millimeter)?
A: The thickness needed is 0.040 inches minimally and 0.050 - 0.060 inches ideally.
Q: Standard size for a shallow tray is approximately 10" x 20" x 1". The dimensions outlined in the technical requirements for this solicitation (maximum of 6.4"w x 9.2"l x 1.1"d, flat bottomed with no holes) would only allow each tray to hold no more than one set of six pots. Can you confirm the dimensions and plans for usage are correct?
A: Yes, the dimensions are correct. We will be using the trays to hold only one set of six pots per tray.
Q: The specified dimensions do not appear readily available in the market. Is there flexibility regarding the tray size?
A: No, the trays must meet the dimensions outlined in the technical requirements to be considered acceptable.
Q: The process to find a manufacturer that can produce a product with the required dimensions may take a little more time. Can the quote submission deadline be extended?
A: With how close we are to the end of the fiscal year (09/30/2023), another extension to the quote submission deadline is not possible.
Q: What is the allocated budget for this solicitation?
A: We are not permitted to disclose the amount of funds set aside for the acquisition that is associated with the solicitation. It is up to those that submit a quote to determine the price at which they can provide a product that meets the technical requirements outline in the solicitation and its attachments.
Q: Have any quotes been submitted for this particular solicitation?
A: We are not permitted to disclose whether or not quotes have been received in response to this solicitation. If an award is made the number of quotes received will be provided in the FPDS-NG record.
