Requests for Information Solicitation 12505B23Q0178
Question 1: To meet the requirements for the calves and the 6 week age from the submitted bid time June 21 to the delivery date of July 20 is a difficult time line. Would it be possible to make the delivery 6 weeks after the award date?
Answer 1: Delivery must be as close to July 20 as possible.
Question 2: What can the calves have had the first 48 hours?
Answer 2: Electrolytes
Question 3: The specs say no colostrum and no milk replacer, what about that?
Answer 3: Electrolytes given only for the first 48 hours
Question 4: Many would be dead after 48 hours of no nutrition. How do we cater that?
Answer 4: There is a substantial rate of loss for vendors supplying Colostrum deprived calves. We will only pay for live calves
Question 5: Please clarify the spec requirements and complete plan for vendors and calves.
Answer 5: The plan is to supply 24 Colostrum deprived bull calves that are given electrolytes only for the first 48 hours of life. They Must be BVD-negative for antibody and antigen
1) Must be Mycoplasma bovis negative
2) Colostrum Deprived
3) No milk replacer for the first 48 hours
4) Housed individually
5) Must be dewormed
6) Must be free of ring-worm
7) Must be sound of foot and body
8) Must be 6-8 weeks old
9) Must be available for delivery on or near July 20th, 2023
10) Animals must be transported directly to NADC with no other animals in the trailer.
11) Must have 24 calves available with comparable size across the group of the same breed (mixed dairy/beef breed) Certificate of Veterinary Inspection required on all animals.
