Combine Transport 12505B20S1007110 Questions
1. Question: In the PWS/SOW it says a lowboy has been used in the past but any other trailer would be fine as long as no damaged caused to the TR88. We have a lowboy but we also have a Low-Pro Stepdeck that'll work, but we'd need a dirt berm or a low lying ditch to back against for loading & offloading at each location. Is this something the Gov could accommodate?
Answer: No, we cannot guarantee there will be a dirt berm or low lying ditch at each location.
2. Question: I am hoping to find out if there is an incumbent contractor currently performing these services, if similar services have been performed in the past, or if this is a new requirement. If this is a follow-on requirement, could you please provide the previous contract or task order number?
Answer: We do not currently have a contract for these services for the upcoming harvest. These services have been performed in the past by G&S Services (19-P-0351 976400) and Ihle Transport (18-P-0362 934143).
3. Question: Can you please fill me in on more info as relates to the contract, i.e , more specifics like frequency of transporting combine and all info related to it?
Answer: The combine has to be transported to 6 different locations (including back to Ames). Frequency depends on weather, field conditions, etc. As one location is finished, the combine must be transported to the next location with a 12 hour notice.
4. Question: "Technical specifications" needs to be included in the quote, what technical specifications are you looking for?
Answer: Technical specifications are how you will go about providing the service.
5. Question: How often will loads need to be moved from September until October?
Answer: There will be 6 moves. Frequency depends on weather, field conditions, etc. As one location is finished, the combine must be transported to the next location with a 12 hour notice.
