1. Question: Are the acres accurate, they seem to be low compared to other years. Will this change from one crop to the next?
Answer: The acres are down for a custom Harvester to do because Government staff is going to take care of doing all the low ligament alfalfa research harvesting.
1. Question: I know that 3 hauling units (support units) is not enough for this job. Will the Forage research be providing trucks to haul haylage as well? If so how many units?
Answer: Government staff will be providing 3 hauling units to help the custom harvester.
1. Question: If the hay would need to be tedded, would that be a separate charge?
Answer: If the custom harvester feels the hay would need to be Tedded that would be an additional charge, only if that service is needed.
1. Question: I know a 500 foot bag will not fit where the bag needs to go. Do I bid for 2 smaller silage bags? The size of the bag depends on the acres and the yield. Do I bid per foot?
Answer: Bagging services bidding per foot makes the most sense for this requirement. Yes, bid per foot.
