Project Flow Cytometer Service Contract for Kingston, RI
General Information
1.0 Scope of Work
This project is to provide annual full-service coverage and maintenance for the FACSymphony A1 flow cytometer and associated units with 4 option years.
2.0 Background
The USDA Agricultural Research Service (USDA ARS) requires a service contract for the FACSymphony A1 flow cytometer and associated components (serial numbers: R664893000093, 349277N0216, R658946001037). These components, owned by USDA ARS NCWMAC, support the Northeast Eastern Oyster Breeding program. This equipment is necessary to advance the research interests of the lab including investigating polyploidy, reproductive physiology, the physiological basis of traits, immune responses to diseases, bacterial and protozoal interactions with oysters, and microalgae production. Experiments in each of these lines of investigation rely on the use of a flow cytometer to analyze individual cells. To ensure consistent, satisfactory operation of the flow cytometer, USDA ARS NCWMAC Shellfish Genetics Laboratory requires a one-year service contract with 4 option years to be started on November 12, 2026 to avoid a costly pre-contract inspection. This contract must include travel and labor costs of certified technicians, 2 Preventive Maintenance Inspections, 2 Preventative Maintenance Kits, unlimited service visits, and unlimited telephone support for all three components of the flow cytometer. Proper service and maintenance require service engineers that are trained and BD-certified in the proper care and maintenance of each specific unit. Vendor shall provide all services, supplies, equipment and facilities necessary to provide the deliverable specified in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this document.
