About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a refrigeration system replacement project for the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest's Washburn District Office located in Washburn, Wisconsin. The project involves three primary components: demolition of the existing refrigeration system, installation of a new refrigeration system, and associated electrical work. The new system must maintain a constant 33-degree Fahrenheit temperature for storing up to 400,000 tree seedlings, with specific requirements including a split system condenser and evaporator, 208-230V power supply, and a condensing unit placed on a 4" concrete pad outside the walk-in cooler.
Key technical specifications include: a 20' x 27' x 9' walk-in cooler with concrete floor and 2"x6" wall construction, no dehumidification requirements, and mandatory compliance with the Buy America Act. Additional requirements encompass providing a thermostat, condensate drain, "snow legs" for elevation, maximum manufacturer warranty, electric defrost capability, electronically commutated fan motors, automatic restart after power loss, and external disconnect. The contractor must submit detailed load calculations, equipment specifications, and performance characteristics for approval prior to purchasing and installing any equipment.
