VENDOR QUESTIONS & GOVERNMENT RESPONSES
1. Are photos allowed to be taken at the site visit?
Forest Service Response: Yes, for proposal/quoting purpose only.
2. Due to the fact that this solicitation requires us to “hold” our pricing for 90 calendar days for acceptance and given the recent uncertainty in materials and labor costs; would the government consider including the FAR Clause 52.216-4, Economic Price Adjustment for Labor and Material in this solicitation?
Forest Service Response: We have considered the use of an economic price adjustment clause; however, we do not anticipate this providing much benefit given the overall estimated value of the procurement and the 10% limit on any adjustment.
3. Can proposals be submitted without attending the site visit?
Forest Service Response: Yes. A site visit is not required to submit a proposal or quote.
4. The SOW shows the entire floor being replaced inside of the Unit. But it does not say anything about replacing the VCT inside of the unit. Do we need to include in our price new VCT flooring to match existing?
Forest Service Response: For the foundation the forest did not request for the entire floor to be replaced, however the in SOW for the metal roof the Forest did request for the removal and disposal of the existing asphalt roof. Synopsis below:
Scope of Work Foundation:
Choctafaula Ranger Residence, Floor Leveling and Foundation Stabilization Project:
Provide all equipment, labor, materials, and other incidentals necessary to level the existing floor of the residence. The work shall include, and not limited to installing additional treated wood floor beams and anchors to support the residence to prevent shifting and sagging and stabilize the existing foundation by providing additional treated posts, floor joists, anchors, and straps.
Scope of Work Roof:
Choctafaula Ranger Residence Roof Installation: This project consists of the removal and disposal of the existing asphalt composition roof, the inspection, removal, and replacement of damaged or deteriorated plywood sheathing and fascia boards, and installation of a synthetic underlayment and standing seam metal roof system.
