About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document and Pre-Bid Site Visit Summary for solicitation 12445126B0012, addressing clarifications from contractors who attended or are preparing bids for the Bent Creek Superintendent's Residence Repairs project.

The document provides three categories of clarifications. Regarding schedule, the building serves as temporary housing for interns and employees working at Bent Creek Experimental Forest and is fully booked from May 4 through August 14. Work on the occupied upstairs portion (Tasks 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, and 13) cannot commence until after August 14, while all remaining tasks may be completed at any time following the Notice to Proceed. On contract clauses, a clarification was requested regarding the minimum wage requirement, noting that Executive Order 14026 referenced in the contract has been rescinded by Executive Order 14236. Regarding task requirements, the government clarified that color codes for existing kitchen and bathroom paint will not be provided; contractors must obtain field samples and perform their own color matching. Kitchen painting specifications require all walls, cabinet faces, door faces, trim, and ceilings to be painted, with ceilings in flat finish and all other surfaces in satin or eggshell finish.
