15 Sept 2023 Cove Lake Lift Station Pre Bid Site Visit.

Danny Sims, COR The meeting started at 10am at the Cove Lake Recreational Area. Contractors signed in, then I gave a brief description of the project and explained the current system and that it was supporting one large restrooms with showering facilities and a food concession area.

We had the lift station open, and they were able to see the current set up, then we moved to the equipment chase in the restroom facility to look at the existing control panel.

Q1. When cutting the main 2 inch line will the 4000ft of pressurized line try to backflow into the existing lift station? A. At that point the line will have some effluent in it. The plan would be to use a water source on site to flush the whole system with chlorinated water before making any cuts. The water will most likely come back into the lift station, but it will be cleaner.

Q2. Will the existing red warning light mounted to the building be replaced? A. Yes. Install the new red warning light in its place.

Q3. Are we using the existing electrical wires at the site? A. Yes. If they are in acceptable condition, they can be used Q4. Can ball valves be used in place of gate valves? A. Yes. Ball valves would be acceptable.

Q5. How well does the area around the new lift station need to be landscaped? A. The area needs to conform to the current slope of the land for drainage and the area needs to be leveled and free of large debris.

Q6. When are bids due? A. 26 Sept at 1300.

The meeting concluded at 11:15 am.
