Project 2023 Annual Fire Extinguisher Servicing

General Information

1.0 Scope of Work

The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, and all other resources required to deliver the requirements stated herein, except as may otherwise be specified in this statement of work.

2.0 Background

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requires that portable fire extinguishers be inspected, tested, and maintained in accordance with NFPA 10. The Forest Products Laboratory adopts the latest edition of the NFPA Codes. This service is also required per OSHA.

Contractor Requirements

3.0 Technical Requirements / Tasks

· All work is to be done between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday unless otherwise specified.

· Contractor must possess and furnish written proof of a fire extinguisher manufacturer factory service certification and/or National Association of Fire Equipment Distributors Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician certification relevant to the type of work performed.

· Work dates shall be scheduled with the point of contact after contract is awarded.

· Contractor will report to the Health and Safety Manager to obtain a contractor building access card as needed.

· Contractor will report to the FPL Health and Safety Manager prior to starting any work to sign in and obtain a copy of the fire extinguisher list.

4.0 Government Furnished

FPL will furnish no tools, supplies, or employees to assist with inspection and test work.

5.0 Deliverables / Schedule

Performance Period:

Services required by this contract to be tentatively completed 30 days ARO.

Provide all labor, time, equipment, materials, and supervision needed for the maintenance, testing, and inspection of fire extinguishers (quantities, sizes, and types may vary at any given time depending on construction, Code changes, or New purchases/processes).

a. Annual Fire Extinguisher Inspection (337 extinguishers)

b. Six Year/Hydrostatic Testing (48 extinguishers)

c. ABC Extinguisher Recharge (48 extinguishers)

d. ABC Extinguisher Parts (48 extinguishers)

6.0 Travel

8.0 Security Requirements

Contractor shall sign in at the front desk with security before being escorted around campus by the Health and Safety Manager. Temporary Contractor Building Access Card may be granted if needed depending on circumstances.

N/A. No proprietary data involved with servicing.
