About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for the HWA Treatment IDIQ contract (12444726Q0032), with a question deadline of 25 June 2026. The document addresses three key inquiries regarding tree treatment operations and procedures.
The Forest Service will not physically tag individual trees requiring treatment at most sites; instead, trees will be GPS'd with spatial data provided via task order. At minimum, one treatment stand will have trees selected based on diameter specifications. Treatment area boundaries will be clearly delineated through georeferenced PDFs compatible with Avenza or similar mapping applications, with GPS files also available for handheld device navigation. Regarding treatment methodology, the Forest Service will specify the exact treatment method for each site in the task order once pricing is received from this solicitation, rather than allowing the applicator to independently determine the most appropriate method.
