Solicitation 12444522QQ0062 Questions and Answers MTNF Einstein Mine Inspection Questions and Answers

Q. Is the level 3 data validation package something that we need to provide or something the Forest Service will provide? A. The third party level 3 data validation package would need to be provided from the contractor as a part of the deliverables.

Q. On previous project for Eastern Region when requesting TAL Metals for sample analysis usually mercury and cyanide are excluded. Einstein SOW is requesting TAL Metal with no comment about mercury and cyanide. So, the question is to include or exclude mercury and cyanide? A. We will not require Mercury and Cyanide to be tested for in the laboratory analysis.

Q. Is lead (Pb) the only metal of concern? A. Lead is not the only contaminate of concern, but does tend to be a driver and a good surrogate on many of our sites. Per the SOW we will be analyzing and considering all TAL contaminates in the SI.

Q. Is NELAP the only certification required for the lab, or any state specific certifications are also required? A. The lab does not need to be certified. Use of an EPA Contract Laboratory Program lab is also not required. The lab does need to be approved by the COR and have previous ISM experience. A lab representative is required to participate in the project kickoff to answer questions about ISM sample processing SOP’s and to verify they understand the SOW.

Q. Would participating on this requirement preclude us from future actions related to this site (RI/FS, RD/RA) solicited by USDA or any other government agencies? A. No participating in this contract will not preclude you form working on future actions at this site by USDA or other government Agencies.

Q. What are the field marking requirements? Do the DU, the grid, and/or the sample location need to be flagged in the field? A. The boundary of the DUs will be marked by USFS personnel prior to the sampling event. Individual sampling locations are not required to be flagged, but there is a requirement in the SOW that requires you GPS and map the sampling points.
