The project involves the reconstruction of the Mackinaw Campground, with an estimated project magnitude between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Offerors must be registered and valid in the System for Award Management (SAM) database. Notes and an attendance list from the site visit will be uploaded to SAM.gov as an amendment to the solicitation. The Contracting Officer is Tanya Spanfellner, and the Contracting Officer Representative is Garon Sandall.

The preliminary plans for the project are available, with some additional details to be provided in a forthcoming final set of plans. Contractors raised questions about the project timeline, with the agency indicating a preference for a 2024 construction schedule, but openness to considering a split over the 2024 and 2025 seasons. The solicitation will utilize Request for Proposals (RFP) or FAR Part 15 procedures, and a staging area for contractors will be delineated in the final plans.

· Question: Would it be possible to allow construction to begin in 2024 and then extend into the 2025 season.? Would the USFS consider splitting the project up over two seasons?

· Answer: As of right now the USFS is planning on having the project be constructed all in one season, 2024. However, the issue has been noted and additional discussions will be had by the USFS concerning this possibility.
