a. Window size is 14”H x 21”W (see photo), quantity 1, type casement, non-operable.
3. Dwg Sheet 7 of 12, West Elevation: Should the first-floor window between the doors be considered a “Window No. 2” as shown in the Window Schedules on Dwg Sheet 4 of 12? If so, should the “#” (quantity) of “Window No. 2” be changed from 7 to 8?
a. The contractor is correct the quantity of “Window No. 2” should be changed from 7 to 8.
4. Dwg Sheet 7 of 12, East Elevation: Two (2) windows are shown on the East Elevation, first-floor, that do not indicate any work – are those windows to remain as is? If so, can you provide the window manufacturer’s name and the model number for each?
a. No work required, we do not have window manufacture names and/or models.

a. No work required, we do not have window manufacture names and/or models.
7. If the offer intends to rely upon paragraph (d) of FAR 52.204-8 (page 19 of the Solicitation) does the offer only need to provide completed copies of pages 19, 22, and 23 to comply with the “L.2, 2), a) Price Proposal, iii) Section K requirement? (see page 26 of the Solicitation)
a. Yes, it is okay to return only the pages that require fill ins from the contactor.
8. Should the performance period noted on page 6 of the Solicitation, FAR 52.211-10, be changed to reflect a performance period of 120 days after notice to proceed?
a. Yes, that will be corrected in an amendment.
9. Sheet E1.0 & E1.1 can the new exit signs be installed utilizing surface mounted painted EMT or concealed NM or MC Cable or does it have to be in EMT conduit concealed above ceilings and in walls.
a. Per E1.0 and E1.1, General Note 3, conceal/‘RECESS INFRASTRUCTURE AND COMPONENTS, WHERE POSSIBLE.’ Wiring to be per the latest edition of the NEC (2020), based on the existing wood-frame Type V-B construction and ‘B’ occupancy. Per E1.0 and E1.1 General Note 4, ‘WHERE INFRASTRUCTURE IS SURFACE-
MOUNTED OR EXPOSED, SUCH AS CONDUIT, PAINT TO MATCH ADJACENT
FIELD OF (E) MATERIAL/FINISH, TYP.’11.
b. Sheet E1.1 keynote 4 calls for a 60A-2P Panel with 12 space, Specification 260500 (page 4), para. 2.8 lists NEMA PB1, Type 1. NEMA PB1, Type 1 panelboards are not available in 12 space panels. Would a load center be acceptable? If not, please provide additional guidance. (Existing electrical panels throughout the building are load center type).
a. Provide per E1.1, Keynote 4 direction. Configuration and installation to be per the latest edition of the NEC (2020).
10. Sheet E1.0 shows one 2x4 light fixture in one office and keynote 4 says to replace with new type A or AX fixture at the same location, is this correct? Does the new fixture need to be 2x4 or does the government intend to change the match the other new type A fixtures in this office? Neither the lighting schedule nor the specifications identify a 2x4 light fixture.
a. Assuming the existing 2’x4’ fixture is not within an existing ceiling grid, replacing w/ a Type AX fixture as noted on E1.0 should be sufficient.
11. Does the existing attic and wall circuit wiring concealed in the walls run in conduit to the existing switches? Are the light fixtures and wall switches in the attic and walls mounted in metal electric boxes with conduits? If not what method is existing?
a. In the attic there are metal electric boxes with conduits. In the walls there are metal boxes and it looks like there is conduit to it, but cannot be sure if coming from attic or basement.
12. Sheet E1.0 Hallway shows a LX light fixture there are no “X” Emergency battery type light fixtures available in that type of keyless light fixture. The light schedule does not specify an “LX” light fixture. Please clarify fixture type.
a. The Contractor appears correct that the specified fixture doesn’t have a battery backup version. As such, contractor to provide fixture type ‘GX’, in lieu of ‘LX’ fixture type at hall indicated on E1.0.
13. What type of insulation is in the attic -- blown, batt or none? What is the depth?
a. Blown-in, 2-inch average.
14. Is there attic access to the entire attic?
a. There are (2) attic access points. One located in sales room 104 and the other we believe is inaccessible and located in closet across from the office 112 (see photos). We are still looking to see if there is another access point.
15. Sheet E1.1, Keynote 8, can the existing exterior pole light fixture arm be reused for the new light fixture? It appears the metal pole was made to match the mounting bracket the exterior light arm.
a. We assume that the existing exterior light pole was problematic in some fashion that prompted to call-out its removal and replacement with a building-mounted solution.
16. In the description for the exterior paint the solicitation states "STRIP (E) PAINT FROM BUILDING" in keynote 6. Are you wanting the paint removed from the entire exterior siding of the building prior to painting or just the areas that are flaking?
a. The Solicitation states what we require for preparing the build to be painted.
