Line item 004 of the bid schedule indicates the contractor will need to price out Survey and Staking. Is construction staking and surveying a requirement for this project? We don’t anticipate needing to survey and stake the area as we are just removing the old stage and replacing it with a new stage in the same location. If staking and surveying is required, will the government be providing CAD drawings?
Surveying and staking is not required for this project, this item has been removed from the updated schedule of items.

Line item 005 of the bid schedule indicates the contractor will need to price out Removal of Structures and Obstructions. What structures and obstructions will need to be removed? Aren’t we already pricing out the stage removal in line items 10-13? Please advise.
If required, the contractor is responsible for moving and replacing any boulders that block access to the site. The line item has been removed from the updated schedule of items. Stage Removal still remains as a line item.

Line item 007 asks the contractor to price out object markers, with steel post. What is the expectation here? Please advise.
Object markers and post are not required for this project, they have been removed from the updated schedule of items

SF 1442 block 13b. indicates a bid guarantee will not be required. In the proposal instructions on page 36, under Business/Price Proposal Instructions it says a scanned copy of a fully executed Bid Guarantee will be required. Will a bid bond be required for bid submission? If so, what percentage?
From Tanya: Liz, the answer to this one is to remove any clause or reference of Bid Guarantee, a Bid Guarantee will not be needed for a project this size.
The specs ask for a wire mesh to be installed over the concrete by nailing the mesh to the concrete. Our Masonry expert will not warranty their product with this method. They would prefer to instead cut a mesh patten in the concrete and use a bonding agent to attach the stone. This method would also require the concrete slab to overhang the stone veneer by at least 2” to shed water away from the stone veneer. Would the government consider alternative methods of application for the stone veneer?
Yes, the government would consider this alternative application. On your bid please clearly indicate if given prices are for the method in the specs, or for the alternative method

To clarify, will the line items highlighted in yellow on the schedule of items be awarded all together or will they be treated as options that may or may not be awarded?
All line items will be awarded together, there are no option items.
There are a few large rocks that block access to the site for equipment. Will the government be responsible for moving these rocks to allow access or will this be the responsibility of the contractor?
If they cannot find an alternate access path the contractor will be responsible for moving and replacing any boulders.
