Solicitation 1240LT22Q0131 – Amendment 01 Reader/Basset/Highway 191 Boundary Fence Ashley National Forest

Attendees:

Steve Summers, Green River Construction Taylor Brochbank, Green River Construction Gary Brown, US Forest Service

Questions and Answers:

Highway 191:

Q. Can our subcontractor use a brush hog as they're clearing along this fence and along the enclosures?

A. Any method is acceptable as long as if follows the contract specs.

Q. Is the end point of this section of fence where it meets up with the next fence (the fence you mentioned in your previous email)?

A. Yes

Wildlife/Cattle Enclosures:

Q. Can an 8ft path be cleared on the outside perimeter of these fences? That way the heavy equipment could maneuver around the enclosure, to avoid driving through the enclosure area.

A. Yes

Solicitation 1240LT22Q0131 – Amendment 01 Reader/Basset/Highway 191 Boundary Fence Ashley National Forest

Q. Did you want a welded top rail on the 4ft cattle fence enclosure?

A. No welded top rail is specified.

Gartrell Spring Enclosure:

Q. Would you prefer that cedar posts/treated posts be used for this enclosure, as opposed to steel posts and wire netting? It's looking like the steel posts would be a cheaper option.

A. Cedar and treated posts are specified and required. Because it is a water source cattle and wildlife will push too much on a wire fence.

Cattail Pond:

Q. Could you send me Susan's contact information?

R. Permittee contact information will be provided to the successful offeror after contract award.

General Questions:

Q. As far as the deadline schedule for each project is concerned, does each project have to be started immediately after the previous project is completed? For example, say that the Highway 191 project is completed in 20 days, would the next project need to be started immediately? Or is it up to the contractor when they start the next project (so long as they didn't pass the 60-day requirement)? Our subcontractors were just wanting to know so they can schedule accordingly.

R. A notice to proceed will be issued prior to the start of work. Per F.2 of the solicitation, all base items must be completed within 60 calendar days from the start date identified on the notice to proceed. Option items, if awarded, must be completed within 30 calendar days from the start date identified on the notice to proceed.

Q. How soon do you anticipate that this contract will be awarded after the August 22nd deadline? Again, we just wanted to know for scheduling purposes.

R. Quotes must be valid for 30 days. The Government has up to the 30 days to make a contract award.
