Questions and Answers- 1240LP23Q0052- CONT FW CSE

1. Will paper maps be given of the work areas?

Yes paper can be given upon request

2. What is the status of the forest? Mostly dead? Blown over? Beetle kill? How much litter?

Beaver/Minor- It will mostly be beetle killed lodgepole stands 30-70% dead. Most live trees are infected with Dwarf Mistletoe The amount of blowdown will be variable in some stands it will be minor and in others I would consider it heavy and may make walking thru difficult. Most of the stands should have a thin litter layer.

LRD-There is a large amount of standing dead from beetle kill throughout the project area, probably around 60/40 live to dead. Most live trees are infected with Dwarf Mistletoe. There are some areas with heavy blowdown however it is not stacked high and is easy move through. These areas of heavier blowdown are not super common throughout the area. There is a light litter layer throughout

3. Dead seedlings?

Dead seedlings are somewhat common. The cause of seed mortality here is fairly random

4. How many plots/acre in the stands?

one plot per 10 acres, a minimum of three plots for stands less than 10 acres.

5. How far a walk are the furthest stands from a drivable road?
