About this file

The document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation 1240LN25Q0008, a procurement for a Fire Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) with tracks for the United States Forest Service. The Q&A addresses two specific vendor inquiries regarding vehicle configuration: first, clarifying requirements for heating and cab design, and second, confirming accessory specifications.

Regarding the vehicle specifications, the government confirmed they will accept a heater if it is standard with the hard cab configuration, though not explicitly required, and they do not need air conditioning or windshield wipers. The solicitation is for the Department of Agriculture Forest Service and requires vendors to review Section B of the solicitation document and comply with provisions 52.212-1 and 52.212-2 for full details on vehicle requirements and evaluation criteria.

Question and Answers

Questions:

1. I wanted to check if there need to be heat & a/c in the machine or just a full hard cab. I have a couple options so I wanted to clarify to narrow it down.

2. Also, do they want a windshield wiper included for the front windshield?

Answer:

1. We will accept a heater if it is standard with the hard cab configuration, but it is not required. Either way we do want the full hard cab as you indicated.

2. No need for a/c or windshield wipers.
