About this file
This document is an amendment to a solicitation for the Lamonta Historical Structures Restoration project. The project includes restoring historic Depression-era buildings on the Ochoco National Forest in Oregon for the USDA Forest Service. Work includes replacing siding and battens on one building to match existing sizes, and restoring boarded-up windows by installing trim, mullions and painting to resemble multi-light windows rather than installing glazing. Clarification is provided that putty stops referred to in the specifications are window grills or dividers. A pre-proposal conference was scheduled for May 19, 2021 to facilitate preparations, with requests to contact the named individual on attendance numbers. The amendment provides corrections and answers to submitted questions to clarify the scope of work.

Except as provided herein, all terms and conditions of the document referenced in Item 9 A or 10A, as heretofore changed, remains unchanged and in full force and effect .
1. Specification 07 46 23, Part 2 Products, 2.01 Siding, B. Batten Strips, is corrected to read 1 x 3 inch, rather than 1 x 4 inch.
2. The following answers are provided to submitted questions:
Q: Building 2101 wall C item 07462 has language in there about replacing brick molding around windows to material consistent with remainder of building. It appears that windows already have brick molding consistent with remainder of building and brick molding is in good shape. We’re assuming if items are in good shape as determined by COR then we won’t need to replace items and that this will be consistent with most of the work items?
A: Correct
Q: Spec section 074623 calls for battens to be 1x4 and all existing battens are 1x3. Should we figure on matching spec or match existing?
A: 1”x3” battens is the correct size, Spec Section 07 46 23 will be revised to indicate 1”x3” battens.
Q: Addendum 1 response had an answer to a question on the boarded-up windows that stated the boarded-up windows needed to be restored with glass. On page 3 of the drawings, item 06204 describes the work associated with the boarded-up windows. A similar description is given in spec section 062000. From the description it appears that we are to leave plywood in the opening, install wood trim, mullions, etc. to match existing windows on site and then paint the entire assembly to ‘resemble a multi-light window’. Can you please confirm if we are to restore these windows with glazing or restore per note 06204 on page 3 of the drawings? If it’s per 06204, is one solid color in the multi-light section acceptable or does some sort of scene or other scheme need to be painted in those ‘window’ sections?
A: Restore per note 06204, with one solid color to ‘resemble a multi-light window’
Q: Please clarify the term putty stops as used in item 06202 for wall L on building 2101.
A: Putty Stops – Term is being used as the Window Grill or divider for the individual glass panes of each window.
