Questions for the Resurrection River Cabin Decommissioning, Solicitation 1240BF22Q0096
1. Attachment 1, item 2.1.3.4 states the salvaged items will need to be transported to a location designated by the CO. Can you please provide a specific location where the salvaged items require transport, such that these costs can be provided.
a. Kenai Lake Work Center 33599 Ranger Station Spur (mile marker 23.5) Seward, AK 99664
2. Is there a cleared landing pad at the site?
a. There is currently not a safe space to land at the cabin site. At the Kenai Lake Work
Center site where the salvaged materials will be transported to, there is an airstrip across the Seward Highway from the Work Center.
3. Can you provide a copy of the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan that the contractor is required to comply with?
a. The government shall remove the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan from the requirement.
4. How many treated timbers are there? What is their size? How deep were they installed? Can the wood piles be cut off a minimum of 2-feet below ground and the bottoms left in place?
a. It is estimated that there are up to 10 treated timbers in the ground, likely 8”x8” with a total length of 6’-8’ each. Yes, the timbers could be cut 2-feet below grade and backfilled with material from on site or nearby.
5. Can local fill be scavenged to backfill the pile holes and pit toilet?
a. Yes, local fill can be scavenged on-site or nearby. Contractor to coordinate with the COR prior to beginning scavenging.
6. What method of signage did you have in mind for the decommissioned pit toilets?
a. The signage for the decommissioned pit toilet is not required for this project since another outhouse is not planned for the area and the site is remote.
7. Remote work is best performed Monday through Sunday (7 days per week until complete) to minimize mob/demob costs to the government. Is this schedule satisfactory?
a. Yes.
8. The due date for this solicitation is a Federal Holiday, can the due date be extended?
a. The government will extend the solicitation until 08 Sep 2022.
9. How much does the cabin weigh?
a. Cabin weight is unknown at this time
10. Would it be ok to remove the cabin in one piece?
a. Yes, the Cabin can be removed as one piece. However, the contractor will still be responsible for disposal.
