A partnership with ODOT provides funding for a contract to maintain this access point during the winter months. This work meets the agency mission of providing access to public lands, support special use permittees who provide a public service, and providing a safe place to park with sanitation facilities for the protection of the natural resources.

See Attachment Sno-Park Maps for service locations. Locations are as follows:
Forest Road 66
Remove snow from roadway to within 1” of the paved surface for approximately 1.5 miles of NFSR 66 (single lane gravel w/ turnouts) from County Rd 999 to sno-park. One complete removal consists of plowing snow through one full width. (14’minimum plus turnouts) and length of the road from County Rd 999.
Clear Creek Sno-Park
Remove snow to within 1” of the paved or gravel surface of sno-park loop road and parking area. Remove snow from approximately 800 feet of the sno-park loop road (12’ minimum width) plus the adjacent parking area for the sno-park. Remove the snow from the edge of the parking area for a distance sufficient for snow to be piled throughout the winter. Do not damage existing trees while performing snow removal or stockpile operations. Avoid pushing snow into Clear Creek by keeping all operations a minimum of 50 FT from Creek.
Catherine Creek Sno-Park

Contractor shall regularly check snow depths on the roads and parking areas and shall plow the entire area when average snow depth at the parking area reaches or exceeds a trigger depth of 6” of snow accumulation. The Contractor shall contact the COR for authorization prior to conducting maintenance on access roads when the 6” snow depth trigger is not reached in parking areas (occurs infrequently; typically, due to the need for slush removal, or from drifting caused by heavy wind).
