QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (Q&A) ROUND NO. 1
Janitorial Services, Newport Ranger Station USDA Forest Service
Colville National Forest Newport-Sullivan Lake Ranger District
RFQ No 1240BD26Q0051 (Amendment 01)
Vendor Question #1: Number of buildings: The PWS describes two buildings — Main Office (Bldg. #2005) and Fire Office (Bldg. #2212). However, Task 3 references "all three levels of the district office building." Could you confirm how many buildings are in scope, and which building this "district office building" refers to?
Forest Service Answer #1: There are two buildings only, Main Office (Bldg. #2005) and Fire Office (Bldg. #2212). The “district office building” refers to “Main Office (Bldg. #2005). See attached Page 20 and replace it in the RFQ.
Vendor Question #2: Building stories: Task 3 lists interior windows on "2 levels" of the Fire Office, while the exterior window line references "three levels." Could you confirm how many stories each building has (#2005 and #2212)?
Forest Service Answer #2: Both buildings have a ground level and a main level for cleaning purposes. The “Site Visit” provision in the solicitation “urges and expects” all vendors to perform a site visit to confirm all cleaning requirements.
Vendor Question #3: Exterior windows: Does Task 3 exterior window cleaning include any windows above ground level? This affects our equipment and approach.
Forest Service Answer #3: The Fire Office (Bldg. #2212) has two windows that are above ground level that can easily be reached with a ladder:

Vendor Question #4: Bunkhouse: Task 3 mentions "all bunkhouse windows are at ground level," but no bunkhouse is listed in the building descriptions. Is a bunkhouse included in this contract?
Forest Service Answer #4: There are no janitorial services for the bunkhouse; this is a typographical error and is hereby corrected. See attached Page 20 and replace it in the RFQ.
Vendor Question #5: Total square footage: PWS Section 1.3.1 lists ~6,499 SF total, while Section 3.1.1 lists ~6,767 SF. Could you confirm the correct total square footage and carpeted square footage for each building?
Forest Service Answer #5: The total estimated SF is ~6,499 SF. The Site Visit provision in the solicitation “urges and expects” all vendors to perform a site visit to confirm all cleaning requirements, which includes total SF. See attached Page 18 and replace it in the RFQ.
