Statement of Work for the repair of chiller #2
Introduction- The Subtropical Horticulture Research Station (SHRS) at 13601 Old Cutler Road, Miami Florida maintains botanical collections and research plantings of mango, avocado, cacao, coconut, as well as many miscellaneous fruit trees, spice trees, and ornamentals.
Scope -The location has a Quantech Chiller that needs repair. This piece of equipment is essential for the cooling of the main building which houses several laboratories and office spaces. It serves as a backup chiller and must always be in good working condition.
Specifications- The Quantech Chiller (QTC4150) has a low refrigerant charge on System #2. The chiller was inspected and cleaned early in 2024 by Johnston Controls. The inspection shows that the chiller needs to have the following items replaced: oil pressure transducer and fitting, eductor temperature sensor, drier, oil filter and o ring gasket. The chiller will need to be pressurized to recheck if it still leaks after the replaced parts and then it needs to be evacuated and recharged. We also need the chiller to have the refrigerant added. Labor and material will need to be included in this service by the vendor.
Period of Service- Immediate need after the contract is awarded. Must proceed by scheduling the repair with Karla Agurto, AO 786-205-8150.
Work Requirement- Miami ARS-SHRS will require that this equipment is fully functional after the leak is repaired, the equipment is cleaned, and the load tests are performed.
Equipment- Contractor must provide all repair parts and labor.
Safety- Contractor will ensure all equipment is safe and appropriate safety equipment is being used.
Accessibility- The contractor must work within the operating hours of the station (M-F 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, except holidays) and must sign in and out at Building 89 (Main Office).
