Eastern Lab: None for this contract. We don't keep track of this because our building is run by

ARS and their contractor manages this waste stream.

Q3. How many pounds of Lead-Acid batteries are generated annually?

A3. Midwestern Laboratory disposes Lead-Acid batteries as needed from small instrument uninterrupted power supplies. This waste stream is generated sporadically, may involve around 5 small batteries, maybe a few pounds, every couple of years.

Eastern Laboratory: None for this contract. We don't keep track of this because our building is run by ARS and their contractor manages this waste stream.

Q4. How many pounds of mercury devices are generated annually?

A4. Midwestern Laboratory: This is a very small, sporadic waste stream usually consisting of a few mercury thermometers.

Eastern Laboratory: None for this contract. We don't keep track of this because our building is run by ARS and their contractor manages this waste stream.

Q5. How many drums of broken fluorescent bulbs are generated annually?

A5: Midwestern Laboratory: This waste stream is generated occasionally when a lamp is broken.

Eastern Laboratory: None for this contract. We don't keep track of this because our building is run by ARS and their contractor manages this waste stream.

Q6. What types of material are typically contaminated with asbestos and how much is generated annually?

A6. Midwestern Laboratory: This is a very small waste stream and is only generated when suspected asbestos material is found such as a heating mantle or glove is found.

Eastern Lab: This is probably highly variable and

I can check with ARS, but we don't manage asbestos waste.

Q7. Is the waste oil and wipes contaminated with solvents one waste stream, or separate waste streams. Is this waste RCRA regulated? What solvents are typically in the waste? How much of this waste is generated annually?

A7. Midwestern Laboratory: The wipes and the waste oil has been managed as RCRA waste as the chemists couldn¿t ensure that there isn't some contamination with chloroform, acetonitrile, methanol, ethyl acetate, hexane, dimethylsulfoxide or other potential hazardous residues. The oil is mainly generated from used oil from the mass spectrometer vacuum pumps.

Other equipment may also contribute oil which would be non-hazardous if managed by itself. The amount generated annually is variable but is usually several gallons, with about six 5 gallon plastic bags filled with wipes, pads with absorbed oil and empty oil bottles.

Eastern Laboratory: We recycle our waste oil through our maintenance contractor and it is commingled with the rest of the building.

Q8. Since tissue is being analyzed, will there be any infectious waste encountered?

A8. There is no infectious waste disposal under this contract.

Q9. are any of the FAR clauses in paragraph C

(below), page 17 of the solicitation that will be applicable to the pricing of this solicitation.

We want to ensure that we comply with any wage determinations, if applicable. (c) The

Contractor shall comply with the FAR clauses in this paragraph (c), applicable to commercial services, that the Contracting Officer has indicated as being incorporated in this contract by reference to implement provisions of law or

Executive orders applicable to acquisitions of commercial items

A9. All the applicable clauses have been included in the solicitation.
