About this file

This document is an informational notice for a Synopsis of Proposed Contract Action for the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) 2025 Hazard Tree Stewardship IRSC project. The U.S. Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region (R5) plans to issue a competitive Request for Quotes (RFQ) in August 2025, with a tentative award in September 2025, using a Stewardship Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). Only current BPA holders are eligible to submit quotes, and the solicitation will be emailed directly to LTBMU BPA holders instead of being posted on sam.gov.

The project objectives are to protect community safety and improve forest health by removing approximately 39 hazardous trees across 6 acres in 19 different locations within Washoe, Douglas, El Dorado, and Placer Counties. The work supports the USDA's National Active Forest Management Strategy and Executive Order 14225 on Immediate Expansion of American Timber Production. Trees will be technically felled away from flagged resources, utilities, and private property, with a project completion deadline of September 30, 2026. The NAICS Code is 115310 (Exception 2 - Fuels Management Services), and the contracting office is located in Sisters, Oregon.
