Gauley Siding Replacement Clarifications and Answers
· Question: The incoming service line and meter is in the way since 1” of insulation will be added. Will the Forest Service be having an electrician come out and take care of this issue or will the contractor be responsible?
Answer: An electrician will not be necessary. The contractor shall install the extra 1” insulation up to all sides of the conduit coming up from the ground. The 6-8 inch portion in between the conduit shall have vinyl siding installed without insulation if possible. If new siding cannot be installed in this location then the contractor shall clean and paint the existing siding to match the color of the new siding. (See photo below) This meter and/or conduit will not be removed from the house.
