About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document that clarifies specifications for a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by the Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service for a Cattle Squeeze Chute (Solicitation 1232SA26Q1096). The document addresses 12 inquiries from potential vendors regarding system configuration and component specifications.

The government requires a stationary, manual cattle squeeze chute system with the following configuration: a squeeze chute with palpation access, an adjustable alley attachment (up to 9 feet in length) positioned behind the chute, and four additional 9-foot straight alley sections. The system should include rolling doors on the adjustable alley but does not require walkways, a tub, or curved alley sections. A scale indicator system with load bars, mount, and digital indicator for the platform area is required if integrated into the chute system. Unloading equipment (forklift or telehandler with operator) will be provided by the government at time of delivery. The scale indicator type should be the manufacturer's recommended model that works best with the chute system. Quotes must be submitted electronically to lynn.hults@usda.gov by 4:00 p.m. CST on Friday, August 7, 2026, with the final question submission deadline at 3:00 p.m. CST on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Responses must include detailed capability descriptions, relevant government and organizational experience, and past performance history to receive consideration for award.
