weights to be collected on animals in a safe and secure manner for animals and handlers. Accurate weights are important for medication doses and research data. Must have a rump bar system that will stop the animal from backing up or kicking the bar out of place or the handler. Bar should be able to be moved forward easily and safely preventing injury to the handler. Must have a palpation cage allowing the handler to enter the back side of the chute without letting the other animals out or exposing the handler to other animals lined up which could result in potential injury to the handler. Must have an adjustable alley way which allows handlers to have a second cow on deck for a more streamlined and efficient processing of research animals. Ability to set the head gate as narrow as 4" to allow proper restraint of calves. Must have a quiet and easy moving head catch that can be operated from multiple locations on the chute and ability to lower the handle when not in use to prevent injuries. Must have emergency exit door on both sides of the chute, neck access points, easy access doors on the side to access shoulder or hip, and easy access with latching system to access feet and legs of the animal while also protecting the handle and animal from injury.
