About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) Responses for Solicitation No. 1232SA26Q0655, issued May 26, 2026. The RFI addresses clarifications regarding building maintenance and cooling system work. Key technical clarifications include confirmation that the 8-inch butterfly valve replacement is the correct size (not 6-inch as stated in conflicting documentation), that contractors may perform work on weekends with advanced notice to the Contract Specialist, and that pipe freeze kits may be used upstream of the valve to minimize system downtime by avoiding complete condenser water loop draining. The response confirms that building maintenance personnel or service providers are responsible for draining the cooling tower and associated piping for valve replacement.

Additional technical specifications clarified include belt specifications (DAYTON Banded V-Belt 4/B100, 4 ribs, 103.8 inches outside length), pulley diameters of 6.5 and 16.5 inches with 4 grooves (requiring contractor field verification prior to ordering), and requirements for the condenser water pump No. 1 repair. The response confirms that both bearing assembly bearings and motor bearings must be replaced. The RFI also specifies that contractors must provide an initial leak search proposal for paragraph C.1.3.1, with an additional repair proposal to follow based on findings, and confirms there is no operational isolation valve associated with the 8-inch valve replacement.
