About this file
This is an Integrated Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of a Soxhlet extraction system to support laboratory analysis in agricultural and food research.
The SOW requires delivery of one complete Soxhlet extractor system with minimum specifications including classical solvent extraction methodology, capacity for at least six extraction positions, and ability to complete extraction cycles within 45-60 minutes. The system must achieve a solvent recovery rate of 80% or above and be constructed of borosilicate glass or chemically resistant materials compatible with organic solvents such as hexane, petroleum ether, and ethanol. The equipment must feature an integrated heating mantle or compatible external heating source, efficient condenser(s) for continuous solvent reflux, and be compatible with standard U.S. laboratory electrical supply (120 V, 60 Hz).
Deliverables include the complete extraction system, all required glassware and accessories, a user manual with operating instructions, manufacturer warranty documentation, and a packing list with certificate of conformity if available. No specific delivery date, response deadline, pricing terms, or federal agency information is provided in this SOW document.

INTEGRATED STATEMENT OF WORK
Soxhlet Extractor System
Background
Soxhlet extractor is a laboratory apparatus used for the continuous solid-liquid extraction of compounds with limited solubility. It revolutionized fat analysis and remains a standard, reliable method for isolating analytes from solid samples using a refluxing solvent cycle.
Objectives
The purpose of this Statement of Work is to define the requirements for the procurement of a
Soxhlet extraction system to support laboratory analysis of lipid and extractable components in agricultural and food research samples. The equipment will be used for routine and validated analytical procedures requiring reproducible solvent extraction.
Scope
The contractor/vendor shall provide a complete Soxhlet extractor system, including all components necessary for immediate operation upon delivery. The system must be suitable for laboratory use and compatible with standard analytical solvents.
Tasks or Requirements
The Soxhlet extraction system shall meet or exceed the following minimum specifications:
• Extraction Method: Classical Soxhlet solvent extraction
• Capacity: Minimum of 6 extraction positions
• Time Frame: Must be able to perform extraction cycle within 45-60 minutes
• Solvent Recover Rate: Must be at or above 80%
• Materials: Borosilicate glass or chemically resistant materials suitable for organic solvents
• Heating System: Integrated heating mantle or compatible external heating source
• Condensation: Efficient condenser(s) capable of continuous solvent reflux
• Compatibility: Suitable for common solvents (e.g., hexane, petroleum ether, ethanol)
• Electrical Requirements: Compatible with standard U.S. laboratory power supply (120 V, 60 Hz)
Deliverables or Delivery Schedule
The vendor shall deliver:
• One (1) complete Soxhlet extraction system
• All required glassware and accessories for operation
• User manual and operating instructions
• Manufacturer warranty documentation
• Packing list and certificate of conformity (if available)
