About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document regarding the technical requirements and specifications for a walk-in plant growth chamber. The buyer's department works with plants of varying sizes, from cranberries to maize, and requires flexible shelving options, though shelving is not mandatory. The chamber will be installed on an existing concrete pad with a drain and does not require a new floor. The facility has dock, stairs, and freight elevator access, along with existing plumbing, electrical, and HVAC infrastructure already in place.

The chamber must maintain a temperature range between 10 and 40°C with lights on and support multiple temperature offsets to enable accurate temperature ramping during daytime and nighttime transitions. Temperature control must be maintained for 1-4 weeks during experimental periods. The compressor will be positioned outside the chamber in an adjacent location. No CO2 system is required, and irrigation will be conducted manually rather than through an automated system. One to two personnel will work inside the space simultaneously, and a floor drain is available for manual irrigation discharge. The facility has no additional building limitations to accommodate this equipment.

2) Will you require a floor, for the chamber? Or, will the chamber be installed over an existing level floor?

Response: it will be built on an existing concrete pad with a drain.

3) What is temp range required, with lights off? Please specify at which temperature this condition is required and for how long it needs to be maintained?

Response: Temperature range between 10 and 40˚C with the lights on and allow for multiple temperature offsets for accurate temperature ramping during daytime/nighttime transitions.

Temperature controls will need to be maintained for 1-4 weeks during experiments.

4) Is CO2 required?

Response: No

5) How many people need to work inside the space simultaneously?

Response: 1-2
