Questions and Answers
1. Is there a part number for the Monochrome camera with BSI CMOS sensor? Can you please provide detailed specs on this item?
No there is not a specific part number. Monochrome camera with BSI CMOS sensor, minimum 6.5um x 6.5um pixel area, 0C air cooling at ambient temperature, minimum 95% quantum efficiency, with C-mount connection and USB cable, power supply and cord.
2. Will deviations from the stated minimum 6.5μm x 6.5μm pixel area for the monochrome camera be considered technically acceptable if they meet or exceed other performance parameters?
Deviation only if the pixel area is greater than that stated. The minimum is the 6.5 x 6.5.
3. Can you confirm whether there is a preference or requirement for U.S.-manufactured products?
The requirement is for the cameras to be compatible with the existing microscope. Domestic end products do have preference per the Made in America regulations per Contract Terms and Conditions.
4. Should the quote be presented as a single firm fixed price for the entire package, or should each component be itemized separately?
It’s better if each component itemized separately.
5. Would the government accept virtual or remote training in place of in-person training if necessary?
At least one training offered needs to be in person. Virtual will not suffice.
6. Are there any additional entry protocols, such as COVID-19-related policies or on-site health and safety requirements, for installation and training staff?
Requirement for US citizenship or to pass a background check that may take 14 days, and require either passport or RealID for entry to facility.
7. Does the delivery location support standard freight shipping or require liftgate services or other special handling?
It supports standard freight shipping. It will require backing up to dock door to unload or carrying in up stairs to receiving area.
8. Can the installation and training be completed by a technician with relevant technical expertise, or must they be manufacturer-certified?
The technician must be able to support relevant technical training per USDA technical POC. Without that, manufacturer-certification is required.
9. Are there any physical or spatial constraints at the installation site that vendors should be aware of when preparing delivery and setup?
It’s in a smaller room but easily accessible and room to work.
10. Are there specific performance or functionality tests that must be conducted during or after installation to ensure government acceptance?
Trainees must be able to capture image of provided sample using both cameras.
11. Will the government require a certificate of installation completion or service report following setup and training?
Yes, for warranty purposes.
12. Should the imaging software be registered to the government directly, or can it be activated by the vendor on behalf of the agency?
Registered to the government directly.
13. Would a pre-delivery site visit or inspection be required or recommended?
