Question and Answer 8-23-18

1. Specification on page 6-4 item 5 - It states that lime and fertilizer are to be applied before seed.

I understand lime will go on before seeding, but usually fertilizer and seed are spread together.

Fertilizer is used as a carrier of the seed so to speak.

Question: Can we spread fertilizer and seed in same mixed together in the same application?

NRCS Answer: It is allowable to mix the fertilizer and seed together but any seed and fertilizer mix must be spread on the same day that it is mixed.
