About this file

This document is a Work Write-Up for roof and gutter replacement for a property located at 1223 Loeser Ave in Jackson, Michigan, prepared by the City of Jackson Community Development Department. The project involves stripping and replacing the roof on both a home and garage, totaling approximately 22 squares (2,200 square feet), and installing new gutters and downspouts. Specific requirements include removing existing shingles and felt, repairing roof framing, installing oriented-strand board sheathing, applying ice shield, and installing new architectural shingles or modified roofing material. The project also includes approximately 140 linear feet of gutters and 60 linear feet of downspouts. The work is part of a competitive sealed bid process for repairs to program-qualified homeowners, with contractors required to have Sam.gov registration and proper licensing.

The project appears to be funded through the City of Jackson's Community Development Department, with the contract to be awarded to the qualified lowest bidder. Contractors must obtain necessary permits and follow Michigan Building Code specifications. The roofing materials must be architectural style, with color selection by the property owner, and installation must adhere to manufacturer's instructions. No specific budget or funding amount is detailed in the document, but the scope suggests a comprehensive residential roof and gutter replacement project targeting low-income or qualifying homeowners through a municipal improvement program.
