12148420R0001 Dolly Copp Phase III Questions 06/23/2020
1. There are some areas which show "Limit of Construction" around them but with no apparent work in these areas and other areas where there appears to be work but no "Limit of Construction" around these. Specifically, I see several on sheets G 302 & G303.
On sheet G 302, the limits of construction lines show the enclosed area that needs work. For example; Site Preparation enlargement: Little Meadow – Base bid; sites 92, 93, 94 and 96 have been upgraded and don’t have boxes around them. If you look at sheet L-102 which contains the same section with the work to be perform on each site, you will see the same boxes hatched and an explanation of the work needed. On G-302 it has key notes with the preparation work needed.
Sheet G 303, part of the site preparation is the realignment of them. If you see inside of each box, it has the current alignment, the new alignment (darker lines), and the hatch with the work needed.
2. Sheet G-304 shows the area with 2 labels "Future Development (Not in Contract)" and "Bid Alternate #1". Sheet L104 indicates all of this is Not In Contract. Which one should this be?
On Sheet G-304 Site preparation enlargement: Spruce Woods Campsites – Future Development (Not in contract), we are doing only host site 52 as part of the base bid. I don’t see any label indicating Alternate bid #1.
Same on Sheet L-104.
3. Can you please confirm this is a Lump Sum Project (Base Bid and Alternates)?
If you look at page 4 of the solicitation, Part I, Section B; it has three lines asking for lump sum prices. Please provide a lump sum price for the base bid, bid option #1 (Bid alternate #1), and for Bid option #2 (Bid Alternate #2).
4. Are the Electrical in bold on sheets L107 & L108 in contract? If so, can we have more specifics about this?
There is not electrical work included in the scope of work.
5. Will NHDOT Equivalent materials be acceptable substitutions to the materials specified?
Yes. As long as it meet FP03 requirements, NHDOT equivalent material gradiations will be considered.
6. Where does the Forest Service buys its signs?
Unicor.gov and gave their phone number is (202) 353-8736.
7. Is any work in the gatehouse box on Sheet L-101 part of the scope of work?
No, all work on that area is future development.
8. Any stone line on Crew Quarter Rd?
No, Typical section on sheet L-301 don’t show any.
9. How any timber resulting from clearing will be disposed?
For bidding purposes, assume it will remain on site and disposed by others.
10. Is a pedestrian bridge on Hayes Field part of the scope?
No
11. What’s the width on all pedestrian bridges?
Sheet L-801, General Note and Specifications, Loading & Design Criteria, Note 5; has a minimum clear width of 36”, which applies to bridges with a span of 24’ or less. For bridges longer than 24’ follow the “no less than 1/8 span” note on Bridge Cross Section.
12. What the load rating of the bridge on the Campground main road?
13 Tons, as posted on the signs indicates.
13. Unable to locate a spec for the wood signs. The only thing found are the details. Are there specs for the material type, thickness, etc?
Below is a link for the FS sign manual. Plans make reference to this manual for wood signs.

14. Drawings G-201 & G-301 shows the Gate House area as ‘Future Development – Not in Contract’.
All work enclosed on in the Future development area are not part of scope. Notes on this areas are meant to be use when the future development occurs.
15. Drawing L-101 states to install new concrete walkway in Gate House area. Please clarify if the new concrete walkway will be done as part of Phase III, and will it be included in Base, Option 1, or Option 2.
