Solicitation 1210198 Attachment 2 Amendment 2
Question 1: Pump tube assembly for Lime Slurry Feed Pump (p.56) states that the tube size shall be Norprene NKL .375 ID. Pump tube assembly for Chemical Feed Pump (p.48) does not state a specific tube size or material. Is the type we need known?
Answer: See answer to question 2.
Question 2: Do you know the desired tube size/output of the M-2 and M-3 pumps? One pump for the Lime Slurry Feed Pump (p.56) gives me an output in the specs, but not any others. Model number selection is dependent upon output.
Answer: See below:
11244 Volumetric Lime Feeder - Clarification:
Lime Slurry Feed Pump Shall be a Peristaltic Hose Pump with output of 137GPH/2.28 GPM at max 50% capacity. It shall be equipped with a electronic VFD for speed control. Hose material shall be Natural Rubber.
Acceptable manufactures shall be Albin (ALP25), Jesco (FR25), VerderFlex (Rolit 25p) or equal. 100 PSI maximum pressure - Standard epoxy paint with standard gearbox 140TC - 1" ports (Standard) .088 gallons per revolution, Hose: Natural Rubber, Pressure Setting: Less than 50 PSI, Ports: *Special* 1" Male NPT – PVC, Orientation: Right hand when facing the pump, Output @60Hz: 27 RPM (2.3 GPM),Motor: 1/2 HP, TENV, 1000:1 CT, inverter duty, 56C, 3/60/230V.
VFD shall be:
• 1/2 HP NEMA 4X variable frequency drive -230V
• Control system V/Hz or Sensorless Vector Control (SVC)
• Output voltage O to 100% of line voltage, 3 phase
• Overload capacity120% of rated RMS current for 60 seconds (Normal Duty rating)150% of rated RMS current for 60 seconds (Heavy Duty rating)
• Frequency output Range: 0.1 - 400Hz;
• Stability: 0.1 Hz, 0.1 % analog over 24 hours +/- 10 oC,
• Reference inputs3 -Analog/ digital input: 0-5 / 0-10 Vdc,0-4/20mAdc, 0-1/10/100 kHz; each includes independent calibration Adjustments
• Reference supply voltage 10 Vdc (10 mAdc maximum)
• Digital inputs (10) Off= 0 to 3 Vdc, On= 10 to 32 Vdc (pull-up logic), selectable between pull-up and pull-down logic
• Digital supply voltage 24 Vdc (150 mAdc maximum)
• Preset frequencies X5: 16 preset frequencies
• Digital outputs2 SPDT relay output: 130 Vac, 1 Amp / 250 Vac, 0.5 Amp

• X5: 25-step, PLC-type functionality that can control speed, direction and ramps based ontime, analog input, digital input, or pulse input. Conditional branching, addressable outputs and real time operations possible. Pl and PID Feedback
• X5: Process control available with the use of a customer supplied transducer, either 0-10Vdc, 4-20mA or optical
Delete pump skid for Lime Slurry Feed replace with VFD driven peristaltic hose pump.
Question 3: I have a question regarding the condensing unit for the water plant. A condensing unit needs outside to pull across coils to allow the refrigerant to cool which causes heated air to be emitted back into the room. Could we have the condensing unit moved to the outside of the building for proper operation?
Answer: Please refer to Drawings C1.0, Panel “E” and condensing unit location.
Question 4: Drawing C1.0: Do the three Pro Series M-2 get containment platform or concrete pad?
Answer: No
Question 5: Drawing C2.0: There is a floor drain in this room. Do we need to furnish any containment in this area?
Answer: No
Question 6: Drawing C2.0: This drawing indicates a pallet of lime. What exactly is intended to be provided?
Answer: No lime is to be provided.
Question 7: Drawing C3.0 - Existing Silo First Floor:
a) Does existing equipment remain in this area?
a. Answer: No
b) Are we to demo existing equipment or replace it?
a. Answer: The existing equipment the chlorine room (drawing C1.0) and the lime silo (drawing C3.0) will be removed and replaced with new equipment as specified on Drawings C1.0, C3.0, and the Specifications.
c) Does existing piping remain?
a. Answer: The existing piping is to be removed and Schedule 80 PVC is to installed, please refer to drawing C3.0 Note 1 in General notes.
d) Who is to furnish new lime drums?
a. Answer: Please refer to Drawing C3.0, Lime removal notes.
e) Is the cone to be remitted to the Government or is it to be hauled off by contractor?
a. Answer: Remitted to the Government.
Question 8: How much lime is currently in the silo?
Answer: We have estimated that there are 25 drums that contain 55 gallons each. Please refer to Drawing C3.0, Lime removal notes, note 1.
