The procurement seeks a minimum of one and maximum of two laboratories to provide advanced environmental DNA (eDNA) and specimen testing services. Specific services include qPCR analyses of filter disks for various species including Zebra and Quagga mussels, New Zealand mudsnails, Corbicula, and multiple fish species, with options for expedited processing and additional species testing. The bid opens on 2/7/2024 at 10:00 AM MST and closes on 3/7/2024 at 4:00 PM MST, with bids sealed until 3/8/2024 at 1:30 PM MST.
The contract requires laboratories to have at least five years of experience in DNA qPCR processing, utilize state-of-the-art qPCR analysis equipment, and follow strict quality assurance protocols. Laboratories must process samples in triplicate, provide results within 14 business days (or 2 days for expedited samples), and maintain data confidentiality through a mandatory non-disclosure agreement. The testing encompasses a wide range of genetic analyses, including identification and verification of suspect specimens, with the potential for developing novel qPCR diagnostic assays. Payment terms are set at 0% 0, Net 30, and the contract includes provisions for returning unused samples and developing new testing methodologies as needed.

Contractor must have the knowledge and experience to identify listed species utilizing established qPCR methods. Contractor also must follow standard quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) protocols utilizing both positive and negative controls.
1.6
Contractor must run all eDNA samples in triplicate qPCR reactions. If two of three replicates are positive the sample is scored as positive. If only one replicate is positive the sample will be rerun in a second qPCR run (again in triplicate). If one replicate in the second run (rerun) is positive the sample is scored as positive. If none of the replicates in second run (rerun) are positive, then the sample is scored as negative.
Other processes must be approved by FWP for contract eligibility.
1.7 eDNA samples, where available, may be processed and tested for:
oZebra/Quagga (combined species) (Dreissena polymorpha/ Dreissena bugensis) oNew Zealand mudsnail (Potamopyrgus antipodarum) oCorbicula clam (Corbicula fluminea) oWestslope cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii lewisi) oYellowstone cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii bouvieri) oRainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) oBrook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) oSalmoninae sub-family
