1205K320R0006 - MSHNVM Foundation Preparation Amendment 02 - Questions and Answers:

• Q1: Please provide clarification on sheet 12.

o Answer 1: It has recently been brought to the attention of the FS that there is a small drawing typo on sheet 12 of the plans. Located in the lower left-hand corner there is a dimension called out that says 14’-4”, this is incorrect. This should state 4’-4”.

• Q2: After a site visit, we have determined that the existing Kalama comfort station (photos attached) is not as shown on drawings DE4, DX1, and DX2. Our concern is that this may be a concrete vault and not a stick frame structure with FRP holding tanks which is what Marble Mountain and Lava have been confirmed to be. Please clarify type of existing structure.

o Answer 2: Sheet DE4 does show the doorway on the side of the toilet building, but the actual doorway is in the back of the toilet building. Additionally, the toilet building at Kalama Horse Camp is also not constructed in the same fashion as the toilet buildings at Marble Mountain Snow Park or Lava Canyon. However, the toilet buildings are all composting toilet systems, and do consist of the same composting components. These composting components are shown on sheets DX1 and DX2. The sheets DX1 and DX2 are for informational purposes only, to show the general aspects of the buildings, particularly the depth at which the composting components are embedded in the ground.

o Regarding the materials that the sub-surface portion of the buildings consist of, Marble Mountain Snow Park and Lava Canyon are accurately shown within the DX1 and DX2 sheets, to the best of the Forest Service’s knowledge. Kalama Horse Camp is not constructed of pressure treated studs with a pressure treated wood foundation, instead the walls of the sub-surface toilet building consists of concrete. These concrete walls appear as a large “vault” that contains the composting components shown in DX1 and

DX2.

o The Forest Service expects that all toilets buildings are to be decommissioned as stated in the contract.
