About this file

This document presents the minimum insurance requirements for Altec Aerial Lifts and Cranes Parts and Repair Services, a contract opportunity with the Broward County Transportation Department in Florida. The project scope encompasses the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, services, and incidentals for providing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts, diagnostics, inspection, testing, repair, structural evaluation, and preventative maintenance services for County-owned Altec aerial devices, cranes, and lifts. The services will support the Fleet Services Division and various other Broward County agencies. Vendors must be OEM/OE dealers or hold Manufacturer's Designation/Authorization for ALTEC Aerial Devices, Lifts, and Cranes, and must comply with state licensing requirements, certification requirements, and the Living Wage Ordinance. Vendors are required to submit responses electronically through BPRO and must receive a submission receipt by the closing date and time.

The insurance requirements mandate that vendors maintain General Liability coverage with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, Auto Liability with $1,000,000 combined bodily injury and property damage limits, Workers' Compensation at statutory limits, Employer's Liability of $500,000 per accident, and Excess Liability/Umbrella coverage. Broward County must be named as an additional insured, with the vendor's insurance providing primary coverage without contribution from the County. A waiver of subrogation applies in favor of Broward County. For Claims-Made policies, insurance must be maintained for at least three years after contract completion. Additional specialized coverages, including Garage Keepers' Legal Liability and Installation Floaters, are required under specific conditions. The maximum deductible for wind and flood coverage is limited to 5% of completed value, and other deductibles cannot exceed $10,000.
