About this file

This document is an Addendum 001 for RFP 1145-25P issued by Colorado Mountain College (CMC), addressing bike storage structure specifications for the Spring Valley and Breckenridge campuses. The addendum provides clarifications on technical details for two 10' x 12' welded structures, including wall thickness (3/16" steel), frame and rafter spacing (3 feet centers), wall section steel runs, door configuration (single 4' x 4' door on the sloped side), and finish requirements (primer with gloss black paint or powder coat). The project is set to be completed by December 1, 2025, with potential additional structures for the Edwards campus in Spring 2026. Proposals are due on October 6, 2025, with a target award date of October 8, 2025.

The procurement will be conducted through the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System, with CMC evaluating proposals based on overall quality, company qualifications, pricing, warranties, references, and service capabilities. The college reserves the right to make multiple awards or no award at all, focusing on best value rather than lowest price. Vendors must maintain specific insurance coverage, including $1,000,000 per occurrence Commercial General Liability and Workers' Compensation at statutory limits, with carriers licensed in Colorado and having a minimum A.M. Best Rating of A-. The project is funded through the college's budget, with financial obligations subject to Board of Trustees appropriation, and seeks comprehensive pricing for labor, materials, and delivery of the bike storage structures.

RFP 1145-25P

Addendum 001 Issued October 2, 2025

1. Will there be a specified wall thickness for the 2" steel that will make up the frame of this structure?

3/16” thick

2. In the Specifications section, it's calling for 5 stud frames on 3 Inch centers as well as 5 roof rafters on 3 Inch centers. Should that be 3 Foot centers for both?

Yes

3. The wall sections are specified to have Three runs of 2" steel, one of which to be 30" up from the bottom. I would just like to clarify that is a good measurement rather than centered at 45" as referenced in the example photo?

30”

4. It is specified to have a single door 4' x 4' but the example photo shows Two doors. Can you please clarify that a single door is correct?

Each structure will have a 48” opening on the left hand side. Provide one Door only.

5. It is stated that primer paint and then a gloss black finish is to be used for the finish type. Would a gloss black Powder Coat work as a substitute?

Yes

6. Will the contractor need to submit shop drawings for the structure or will drawings be provided?

We are asking for your design and we will approve.

7. Is there an option for site welding? a foot print of 10' x 12' on the shed presents issues for shipping as one piece Yes

8. Can these be made from multiple pieces that bolt together on site?

Yes

9. Are these designs going to be approved by an engineer before fabrication begins?

No

10. Just to clarify, there is only one door requested and its dimensions are 4' x 4'? Or are 2 door panels, as shown in the example picture, preferable?

Only one door on the sloped side.
