Ex.: 061406_CESTM_01 Total Area (Gross Area) - The area of encompassing infestation. Think of the area of represented by polygon (deformed circle on map) that contains the entire infestation. The polygon can be any shape (long and skinny, amoeboid, or nearly circular) as long at it encompasses the infestation. For a gravel pit it may represent edges of the gravel pit. This is the area of a blob on a map that indicates where the infestation is located.

Percent Infested – The portion of the Total Area occupied by the invasive species.

Infested Area- The area actually occupied by invasive species. It is the mathematical product of the Percent Infested multiplied by Total Area.
