About this file
This is an insurance requirements document for Broward County's Water and Wastewater Services Department in Florida, establishing minimum coverage specifications for contractors providing FEMA-compliant electrical maintenance and repair services. The contract is structured as an open-end arrangement to supply and deliver electrical maintenance and repair services to Water and Wastewater Services and various other Broward County agencies. The scope encompasses maintenance and repair work in accordance with specified requirements, with vendors required to meet County and State licensing requirements and participate in County Business Enterprise (CBE) goals. Solicitation responses must be submitted electronically through BPRO by the specified closing date and time, with vendors encouraged to submit in advance. The County will provide a designated period for vendors to submit questions and seek clarification, with responses provided through BPRO's messaging section.
The minimum insurance requirements mandate General Liability coverage with limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, Auto Liability of $500,000 combined bodily injury and property damage, Workers' Compensation at statutory limits with $500,000 employers liability per accident, and Excess Liability/Umbrella coverage to supplement minimum requirements. Professional Liability (Errors & Omissions) coverage applies to engineering, surveying, and design professionals with a maximum deductible of $100,000, and Pollution/Environmental Liability with a maximum deductible of $10,000 applies as applicable. Broward County must be named as additional insured and loss payee where applicable, with the contractor's insurance providing primary coverage and a waiver of subrogation in favor of the County. For Claims-Made policies, coverage and evidence of insurance must be maintained for at least three years following contract completion. Installation Floater coverage is required if Builder's Risk or Property insurance is not carried, and any deductibles for wind and flood coverage cannot exceed five percent of the completed value.
