About this file

This document is a Definitions file for a contract opportunity from the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), providing comprehensive terminology and definitions for a bank stabilization techniques research project. The document outlines key terms related to the project, including definitions for parties involved such as Consultant, Offeror, Principal Investigator, and Research Project Manager, as well as technical terms like Deliverables, Force Majeure, Major and Non-Major Equipment, and various administrative abbreviations like FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) and MCA (Montana Code Annotated).

The definitions establish a clear framework for interpreting contract language, with specific attention to roles, communication methods, and project-specific terminology. While the document does not provide detailed pricing or funding information, it does indicate that the project involves a research initiative related to bank stabilization designs, with provisions for professional references, evaluation committees, and specific communication protocols. The document suggests a structured approach to project management, with clear delineations of responsibilities between the State of Montana (MDT) and the selected Consultant.
