About this file
Summary
This is a design drawing document prepared by Weaver Consultants Group for the School District U-46 Larsen Middle School Domestic Piping Project, located at 665 Dundee Avenue, Elgin, Illinois 60120. The project, identified as PRJ#4366-331-59-08 and dated 02/21/2026, encompasses asbestos abatement and lead tile removal across multiple building floors including the basement, first floor, and second floor. The scope of work includes removal and disposal of asbestos-containing thermal system insulation located above concrete subfloors, behind walls, and in accessible areas using both glovebag and gross removal methods; removal and disposal of leaded glazed block and ceramic tile; and the installation of containment barriers constructed with rigid framing, plywood sheathing, and polyethylene sheeting in compliance with IDPH Section 855.430 standards. Decontamination units and waste-out chambers are specified at designated locations throughout the building. The project requires contractors to field-verify locations and quantities, coordinate wall and ceiling demolitions with the District and onsite consultant, temporarily suspend ceiling-mounted components, provide temporary lighting, and manage operations and maintenance cleanup between fixtures.
The design drawings indicate approximate locations of abatement work areas across six environmental control plan sheets (ENV-01 through ENV-06) showing basement and first and second floor layouts with room designations. Contractors are responsible for compliance with applicable IDPH, EPA, and OSHA rules and regulations regarding hazardous material handling and disposal. The drawings are the property of Weaver Consultants Group and are prepared for use by the School District U-46 under the professional service of designer David J. Kedrowski, IDPH #100-04543, with all work to be conducted in accordance with specification documents and applicable codes.
